Prisoners of war from Azovstal event

Dear friends,

We would like to invite you to the special event dedicated to prisoners of war from Azovstal. The event will consist of the exhibition of photos by Dmytro “Orest” Kozatsky and other authors, and short press briefing of Kateryna “Ptashka” Polishchuk and Iryna Kozatska, the mother of Dmytro “Orest” Kozatskyi.

Where: Ukrainian Civil Society Hub, Station Europe building, Place du Luxembourg, 1050 Ixelles

Ptashka and Orest are two Ukrainians that know the cruelty of the russians like nobody else: both were held captive after russia had taken the Azovstal plant in May, and then exchanged as POWs in September. Ptashka and Orest advocate for the exchange of the remaining Ukrainian POWs from russian captivity and the liberation of all the Ukrainian territories, as they have seen russian atrocities with their own eyes. They also raise funds for rehabilitation programs for Ukrainians. Their stories are worth listening to. As people who have survived both russian occupation and captivity, they can shed light on the reality of this war and contribute to better understanding of soldiers and volunteers’ needs, especially considering the new obstacles winter will bring.

Visitors will have an opportunity to talk to Kateryna Polishchuk and Iryna Kozatska.
